Relief and unmasking go hand in hand for me. From my lived experience as a brown, AuDHD person it is painful attempting to live up to capitalist and neurotypical standards. I have found relief through shedding as many of these standards as possible and by routinely seeking the help of body workers, mentors, and chosen family. My dreamiest dream and wish of all wishes is to share the gift of therapeutic presence and touch to help others find relief in unmasking too.

Maybe it’s my Taurus rising, but I like to take my time with touch. It’s a blend of intuitive, shiatsu, myofascial release, trigger/tender point therapy, swedish, cupping and more. Modalities aside, there is no, one formula because I am actively listening and responding to your body in the moment.

Most of my experience is with hypermobile and neurodivergent bodies and I ask for guidance from my well ancestors, land ancestors and your well ancestors (with consent) to crystallize a protective bubble of collaborative healing and safer space (think Steven Universe’s bubble).

Seeing his relief made me feel peaceful and cloudlike.
In 2019 and 2020, I studied massage therapy in so-called Santa Rosa, CA on the ancestral lands of the Pomo. For the next 6 years I deepened my knowledge through various learnings in Ayurvedic healing practices, hilot, traditional plant medicine, somatic psychology and more. Now I’m in the land of the two rivers, so-called Portland on the ancestral lands of bands of chinook and many others. I live with my chosen family chiku (the black cat depicted here), halo-halo (the torbie cat depicted here), vee (human) and leeno (also human).
I'm a fat non-binary person with adhd who experiences occasional chronic pain flare ups. I have never taken pursuing massage seriously... until I started working with ari and began to feel the benefits in my body and my mental. They let their intuition guide them which I swear may actually be clairvoyant. During our sessions, I often find myself thinking about a specific part of my body moments before they begin to focus their healing efforts on the exact same spot.
Instead of telling you what the session will be, they bring you in to create a collaborative session together. What kind of music will help me get into a relaxed state today? Are there any areas in the body that have been uncomfortable? Am I prone to feeling chilly? Well hey, they have a heated blanket at the ready.
I don't have a lot of other massage therapists to compare them to, but sometimes, you just know when you've struck gold. And ari is gold. If you're looking to invest in yourself, I would definitely recommend booking with them.
If you’re looking for a massage therapist, you need to go to Ari. They have such a warm, comforting presence and a remarkable ability to tune into what your body needs. They intuitively find areas of tension and know exactly how to work through them, with a soothing touch that can be as gentle or as deep as you need. Ari’s massages are truly incredible, and I always leave feeling relaxed and restored. I would recommend them to anyone!
Ari can figure out where to focus based on how I describe my pain to them. I like how they show me which muscles on an app they use. Since I have avascular necrosis of the femoral heads, I am picky about who I work with. Ari made me feel comfortable by using pillows in a way that did not hurt my hips (which can be difficult because of previous hip surgery).
I hold my bodywork time with ari as a precious gift. I have AUDHD and hypermobility so I need a practitioner who really gets how my body works. I always feel held and safe on their table, like my whole body is actually being listened to. Our sessions have helped keep me connected to my body in these wild times.
I ask a ton of questions (I'm really into the body-spirit connection stuff) and ari always takes the time to actually talk it through with me instead of rushing me along.
Honestly, working with ari has helped shape how I understand and take care of myself. If you want someone who sees you as a whole person and not just a bunch of knots to work out, book with ari.
